Custom Ball Bearings

Custom Ball Bearings

Leonardo da Vinci is credited with the discovery of the mechanics of
ball bearings. Today, important work with custom ball bearing design
is being done by Hartford Technologies.

Hartford bearings specialists design custom ball bearings to
reduce friction and support radial and axial loads.
Custom ball
bearings are manufactured in our US and China facilities in single or
double row, thrust or retainer styles, for a broad range of high speed,
low speed and oscillating applications. Some of our more recent
high-profile programs have been for automotive, construction
equipment, medical and dental instruments.

Hartford custom ball bearings can be designed to address specific
issues related to production, such as run accuracy, vibration,
rolling surface fatigue or lubricant degradation. Custom ball
bearings programs are also undertaken to improve the service life –
or overall performance of equipment, or to reduce the amount
of energy used in a particular operation. Energy consumption is
heavily impacted by friction and related factors, and an optimized
custom ball bearing design can deliver significant benefits in
total energy use.

The testing protocols Hartford applies to its custom ball bearings
are unsurpassed in the industry for stringency and comprehensiveness.
In addition to tests on materials, dimensionality and other factors,
Hartford uses an online x-ray system to individually inspect bearings
to verify proper ball count.

Hartford material specialists will work with you to determine
the best materials, combinations of materials, performance coatings
and/or heat treatments for your custom ball bearing project.
We are particularly well-versed in materials that deliver optimum
performance in highly corrosive and other severe service environments.

It’s worth a phone call! (or an email) Tell us what you’d like to achieve
in custom ball bearings and let us provide some recommendations.
For more than 50 years, Hartford Technologies has been a preferred
supplier of custom ball bearings for OEMs and Tier 1s on three continents.
Let us put our expertise to work for you.
