Brass Balls: Materials and Specifications

Profile
Brass balls are used in electrical devices, petrochemical industry operations,
and consumer products such as appliances. Small diameter brass balls are
often used in valves. Electrical conductivity (and lower cost, compared to
other corrosion-resistant balls) makes brass balls a good option for
electronics applications. Brass balls have low friction properties.

Corrosion Resistance
Brass balls exhibit very good resistance to water, gas and oil,
and chemicals including benzene, butane, methyl acetone
and ethyl chloride.

Hardness
Rockwell B75-87 measured on parallel flats.

Sizes
Brass balls are manufactured in 3/64" to 5/8" in
grades 100 through 1000
