Hartford Technologies is a major supplier of
products for poultry watering system
applications using numerous variations of
our soft-stainless ball products.
The use of balls to
control the flow in watering dispensing devices is
common. Most people will remember the water
bottle used in their child’s hamster cage where the
weight of the steel ball provide a seal to prevent
water flow. When the ball was pressed the seal
was opened and water was allowed to flow. Once
the contact was removed, the ball rolled back into
position and prevented the water from flowing.
Because of the design a non-precision ball could be
used as the retaining feature of the tube was
designed to allow for minor variations in the ball
diameter. The same concept is used on poultry
farms in feeding systems where there could be tens
of thousands of birds to feed. |
